It is connected to the main trends dealing with ensuring qualitative education in higher education, life-long learning and specialization of experts in the areas of law, economics, arts, socio-humanistic sciences, research.

The University signed the "Magna Charta Universitatum", document known also as the “Bologna Declaration", later adopting the process, that creates the European higher education area by making academic degree standards and quality assurance standards more comparable and compatible throughout Europe.

The University has 6 faculties; each of them has its own infrastructure in concordance with European requirements and highly skilled professors and faculty. The departments, the administration and the library are placed in three buildings near the city center, in the Students’ Campus area.

The Psychology Faculty offers both a bachelor’s degree in Psychology (formerly referred as license studies) and master’s degree.

The bachelor’s degree takes three years of study (with a last four year generation of study that finished in 2008) and offers the possibility to become licensed psychologist. The shaping and developing of the specific skills of the psychologists’ profession is achieved by practical activities (14% of the total amount of instruction hours) organised by the faculty and led by the specialists in different domains, where these activities are also held: schools, child care centres, clinics, penitentiaries, psychological laboratories, etc.

The master’s degree, that takes two years to finish, offers two specializations: Human Resources Management, and Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology.
The students and the university teachers keep the seminar activities and workshops in psycho-diagnostics, experimental, informational and multimedia laboratories.

The students’ scientific activity is achieved attending to conferences organised by our faculty and others faculty in the country. The results of these activities are published under the teachers’ guidance in „Research and Applications in Psychology”, „Annals. The Psychology Series”, and in the students’ journal „Mind and Feeling”.

The research activity is reflected by the national and international financed projects where the university teachers are active in: The Diagnose of the Occupational Stress in Organizations, Professional Counseling and Information, The Human Resource – the Resource that Represents Us.
